A blog gone sour.

I'm in way too deep

its time for this holiday of mine to really, really take flight. after consulting a friend on the phone, i've come to the conclusion that i really take things too seriously. its not always the greatest thing in the world being nice to people. why do you bother, thomas, about volatile mood swings, about friends who make better acquaintences, about investing so much in something which becomes increasingly transitory in nature? don't get me wrong, i really love you guys. i love my family. i've much to be thankful for this Christmas. i've so, so much to be thankful for, and i am. but i can't, i just cannot continue digging a hole that will hold out of this vast ocean before me. not for now, at least.

see you guys when i get back. till then, enjoy your holidays!

i read this somewhere recently.

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Now, men.. Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and its up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

please don't stomp my grapes.

Let's talk about people who intimidate me.

1) Smart People
ok i admit it, one of the biggest reasons why i've avoided top schools is because intelligent people CAN READ MINDS!!

2) Beautiful People
They make me conscious about myself when im trying very hard to ignore my physical imperfections.

3) Smart, Beautiful People
They will eat you alive. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

ok. so my reasons weren't really reasons. but its hard being so imperfect in front of someone whom we admire. its not self-bashing or envy, because i'm guessing the very same feeling of inferiority in so many of us also forms the instrument of change in our lives. so really, it's all about balancing that feeling of inferiority and not letting it degrade to a form of chronic depression and insecurity.

now. who thinks losing 5kg in 4 weeks is impossible?

its dead at night and i really ought to be sleeping but i just felt the cry of the keyboard calling out to me. the exams are FINALLY over and it felt like the A levels all over again. but on to more pressing matters, such as:

i think, therefore i am a lipid droplet.

yes.

a lipid droplet.

That's all for today.

Cheerios people and can someone tell me what a mistletoe looks like? oh speaking of which i had quite an interesting encounter with a sales assistant when he mistook a mistletoe for mee soto. umm.

i've been thinking of writing a book on cheesy pick up lines that WORK. you know, the really brilliant ones that people grimace at when they first hear it, but unbeknownst to them, subtly play at their heartstrings and reduce them to pools of soppy, hormonal cocktailees! (cocktailee: the recipient of a cocktail, just like how a coffee is the person at the receiving end of a cough).

sweet.

i apologize for the melancholic mood of my previous posts. i allowed myself to get sucked into the abyss of morbid depression due to some conflict of interest within me that was really rattling my bones. but thanks to a few very special friends and their prayers i have renewed hope that this problem may soon pass, and that i might grow stronger in my resolve to be a doctor in the years to come.

and a big thank you to my fleet-footed friend who prances and prays with equal vigor and zeal, and the friend who paints and prays with equal zest and appeal, for being such pillars of strength in a world where we seem to lose ourselves ever so often.
